How far did you get before you started going all teary eyed? Watching RotK for the very first time, that is. I'm a tough old cookie and I didn't shed a tear until Aragorn's coronation. "My friends, you bow to no one" was the scene that finally got to me. After that came the Grey Havens. Frodo was my favourite character (had been ever since FotR) and I was devastated to see him leave. I was bawling like a baby and didn't stop for 10 minutes. I never though I'd react so strongly because I'm the kind of person who doesn't cry over a movie. Not even Titanic. I don't know how or why, but somehow RotK just sneaked up on me. Later, I confessed to my best friend what had happened and she was shocked to hear I had been crying. "What's wrong with ya? Get a grip!". I've seen the movie about fifteen times since then, and it still makes me cry, just not as badly.

Oh....the first time crying in RotK?? Let me think.... I think in the very endwhen Frodo leaves... I can't remember too clearly....I'm also not one of these who cries all the way during a movie....it needs quite a bit fer me But yeah....the ending is so sad when the hobbits get separated.

The "Strawberry Speech" was as far as I could hold in my tears. I couldn't help it! Too terribly sad. After that it was the Grey Havens. I don't think I need to explain. But even after the Grey Havens I cried ALL the way through the end credits. Those lovely sketches are too brilliant. I already read the book before I saw the movie, so I knew what was going to happen, but I was still proud I cried. Actually, I hardly ever cry at movies so this was a breakthrough for me. ;D

Oh man. 1st time was tough. I soaked my shirt, lol. Well, let's see, I usually always cry when Theoden dies. "I'm going to save you." But I started once Frodo and Sam got onto Mount Doom. Never stopped. Actually, I cried throught the credits, in the bathroom, and all the way home. Then when I thought about it later I cried again. Yeah, I'm pretty soft for movies. I cry all the time. And every time I watch RotK, I will always cry. Usually now I just start when Frodo says his speech before they show him writing. And if I don't, I make myself cry. Yup, I would be ashamed if I didn't. I know, I'm strange. The Grey Havens scene. So sad. I get all red in the face and sit there in my puddle of tears. *Sigh*

Well, let's see, I usually always cry when Theoden dies. "I'm going to save you." Yeah, that's a very teary scene Don't feel ashamed that ye cry...that shows that ye have a very sensitive side. I sometimes wish I could cry more.....I always admire the actors when they just can cry off the cuff

Yeah, it shows that the movie is done well (Of course it is) and that it has heart.

A very teary scene is when Gandalf and Pippin sit together in Minas Tirith.
Pippin: I did not think it would end this way... gandalf: end? No...the journey does not end here. Death is just another path. One we all must take.....etc.
And then in the end he says..."white shores and beyond a far green county (always reminds me of the shire!)" And then Pippin answers:"Then it is not so bad..." It's so full of consolation and hope and still so sad...

Aww.... I love that scene in Minas Tirith. One of my favourite Pippin moments. By the way, did you notice his expression? It's the face he makes when he realizes that there's this HUGE troll outside and it's going to break in through the door any second! Poor Pip... He must have been terribly frightened.

*Grabs a tissue* Yeah and the music is half of what makes the scene so sad and touching. And then of course you associate (atleast I do) the music to sadness so whenever you hear it you become sad.
