I like this passage from the books because it shows how even galadriel does not wholey understand every creature and race's reasoning. Even she, powerful enough to withstand saurons forces; does not understand why somethings are deemed as they are deemed.
For elves arnt Magic, they have knolage, which to some seems like magic.

All that you say about elves not acually being magicall and just being the most advanced and wisest race is true.
